You may already know how to clean your room. You just don't like doing it. And now a parent of yours is threatening to take away TV privileges until your room is clean, and your favorite TV show is on in an hour! You want to know how to clean your room fast. The priority here is speed, not thoroughness.
Steps
Close all other programs, bookmark important sites you have up if you have to, and close everything but this. Sign off from any chat programs and put an away message. The temptation to chat or browse can be a major pitfall. If you are in the middle of something, then turn off your screen or save what you are doing and shut down the computer. Also, don't text or talk on your cell phone!
Turn on some fast, energetic music. It'll make the task go faster and will get you on your feet. Also, singing with a song you know helps.
Pick up your clothes. Make them into two piles, the dirty and the clean pile. Put the dirty clothes in the hamper and hang or fold your clean clothes and place them in the closet.
Put all your shoes away. Having them stored away makes everything easier.
Put all the trash that you find in your room and bring any dirty dishes and glasses to the kitchen and put in the sink/dish washer
Put things that belong in the bathroom away. (ex. Hair supplies, makeup, etc.)
Dust all your books and place them neatly on your shelves, so that you won't be troubled by the look of it!!.
Sort all your unwanted purses or backpacks, and hang up the one backpack and purse you are currently using.
Strip the bed and take the sheets to the laundry room to be washed later.
Remake your bed with fresh sheets. A well-made bed goes a long way, especially in your parents' eyes.
If you own a rug shake it out!
If there is anything other, label them for where they go and put them away by group.
Show it off to your parents! They will be ecstatic!
Try not to mess it up again. Keep Everyhting tidy and there will be no reason to clean it later. If you have a younger or older brother and you share a room tell them to KEEP IT CLEAN. If they don't talk your parents about it. Tell them your not cleaning any of their mess/messes!! eat chickebn the smoke
Tips
Open a window, or turn on all of your lights.
Turn off your TV and try not to get on the computer.
Turn off your cell phone; your friends can wait for a text back until you're done cleaning. They won't be mad, they will understand!
Bring a trash bag up to your room and empty out desk drawers and closets from unwanted clothes, pencils, etc. But don't get too caught up and throw away stuff you actually do need. Don't be a pack-rat; if you haven't used it in 6 months, it needs to go!
Don't get caught up in the music, but still have fun!
Try and make cleaning a fun game. For example, it's 5:30, and you want to get all your clothes off the floor. Time yourself and give yourself 5 minutes to get ALL the clothes off the floor. It is a lot more fun when you do it that way!
Take your favorite sport and transform it into a cleaning game. If you like basketball, try throwing all of your clothes into a hamper and count how many times you can get them in the hamper.
Cleaning in categories helps.
Don`t use silly excuses about why you shouldn't have to do it (if your so afraid of spiders then keep your room clean and you won't find them in the clutter on the ground).
If you feel your room still does not satisfy you, try rearranging the furniture,but only after you have finished cleaning. if you start before, it will just lead to an even bigger mess.
