Ever wonder how you can help someone in need? You think to yourself you need to add something more to your life, that would make it more meaningful? If that is the cure for your life than what you need to do is to save a dog...
- Donate to the shelter! A small donation will always be accepted. It could help support the feeding needs all the dogs seemed to eat up.
- Volunteer! Volunteers are what every shelters need. You can help patch up and shape up the shelter to make it more notice-able, and appreciated.
- Speak up! If you aren't afraid to shout out what you believe in, and make everyone excited about shelter dogs, there would be a lot more traffic toward the shelter. Plus, they'd get hyper about helping out too.
- Advertise! I'm not saying go door to door and tell them about the shelter, but what you can do is speak up. You can make a simpe flyer and tape it to the mailboxes.
- Foster parent. It's not like adopting a dog, but you are just a holder until you find a right home for the dog.
- Host a fundraiser! There is several companies that have fundraising merchandise. But make sure it isn't lousy, pieces of junk that no one wants.
- Keep moving foward. Don't tire of this and give up if no one seems to notice. They're testing you, to see if what you say is what you truly believe.
- If someone seems to ask you about it, never seem to exasperated to talk to them about it, no matter how many times you've said it before.
- If you are really going to foster parent, be careful. Some dogs can be a little pysched out, from the sudden change of environment. It takes patience and understanding, so be sure you are positive of what you are doing.
- If you are foster parenting, be sure you are able to let go of the dog, if you do find an owner for it.
