Have you ever taken a different route because you think the person following you could try to sell you something? How do you engage in conversations with strangers on the phone? Do you disconnect the moment they say they are from so and so company? If the answers are yes to most of them, two people in this situation have a problem. The first is you and the second is the salesman.

Steps

  1. Be bold and think yourself to be in a war like situation.
  2. Focus on your target customer segment.
  3. Build a selling strategy around your customer.
  4. Remember,customer satisfaction is has to be maximum,with least cost and better than the competitor.
  5. Think in terms of time and place utility of the customer.
  6. If your product or service gives them a better time or place utility, it's a sure win.
  7. As far as salesmen are concerned,do not be paranoid. Just give them a ear; you never know you may find a gold mine somewhere!
