Acne is something that nobody ever wants. We all wish clearing it up was fast and easy. Here's how.

Steps

  1. Mornings. In the morning, you'll need a gentle wash cloth, moisturizer, a sink, and an exfoliating gel cleanser in a pump bottle.
  2. Splash warm water onto your skin. Use only one pump of the gel cleanser. Lather it between your palms and massage all over face for 1 or 2 minutes, focusing on oily spots. Rinse the cleanser of with your washcloth and cold water.
  3. Dab your face dry. Slather on an oil-free, dermatologist tested facial moisturizer. Let dry for about 10 minutes.
  4. Apply concealer only if it is dermatologist tested and/or contains salicylic acid. Apply very lightly, making sure it doesn't cake and draw more attention to the spot. Be sure all your facial makeup won't clog pores.
  5. Remove your makeup. At night. As soon as you get home (if you're not going anywhere else for the day), use an oil-free, gentle makeup removing wipe to take off your makeup. Wash with a 3-step skincare routine using a lightly exfoliating or cream cleanser, toner, and moisturizer. Try Proactiv for quicker results. (If you choose not to use a pre-made system like Proactiv, be sure all your night cleansers etc. are from the same brand).
  6. Wet face and massage in cleanser for 3 minutes using gentle circle rotations. Rinse with lukewarm water. Apply your toner. Dab dry, and slather on a night lotion to keep your skin moisturized.
  7. Continue this routine EVERY DAY. Even if you don't get home until 2:00 am, or if you're at a sleepover, continue this. In one night, your skin can go from almost-clear to broken out again. To save time, take showers at night and wash your face last. The moisturizer will sink into damp skin better, anyway, and the steam helps expand your pores.

Tips

  • Don't touch your face, ever. The oils on your hands can cause acne. *You should only pop a pimple if it has a big, white head on it. Even then, only gently squeeze it until blood or clear fluid appears. Then wash the spot and apply a spot treatment for up to 20 minutes. Try not to pop them at all, though.
  • Do this every night and morning. You're skin will begin to glow.
  • Alternate between wash cloths every day, and wash them weekly.
  • Results aren't sudden. It will take a few days until you begin to see results.

Warnings

  • Don't scrub too hard.
